Hello! Thanks for stopping by my page.
My name is Karla and my absolute love of all things baking started when I watched my very first episode of The Last Cake Standing in 2010. The ability to sculpt masterful pieces of artwork with cake, frosting and fondant was amazing to me. So for Mother's Day I decided to attempt my very first fondant cake... why not, right? It literally took over 6 hours and my kitchen was an absolute disaster after but with the help of Google, You Tube and my local Michael's store, the final result turned out pretty well. Most importantly, my mom loved her cake.
Fast forward to 2012 when I created my Instagram/Facebook page and then bought my first Kitchenaid stand mixer. What initially started with sharing pictures of my baking attempts with a handful of friends turned into friends, family and even strangers asking whether I'd be willing to bake for their events. So for the past year I've been holding down my 9-5 office job while baking on the weekends. With a bit of hesitation but endless (and persistent) encouragement from my husband (thanks Bubb!), I decided to take the next step and create this website - because if it was up to me, I'd bake all day long!
