Baby showers are probably my favorite type of event to bake for. Dessert tables are super popular right now and with so many adorable themes to pick from, the possibilities for sweets are endless. With planning our baby shower, it wasn't even a question that there would be a full dessert table and I would bake everything myself. Whether I'd be up to it physically, was another question. Now I've been pretty lucky with my pregnancy - I didn't experience any morning sickness; a lot of the time, I even forgot I was pregnant BUT the start of my third trimester was a different story. I guess baby boy thought I was a little too spoiled because fatigue hit me hard and I finally started feeling ALL the "growing pains" associated to growing a little human in my belly. I guess I was due. So the challenge was to find that balance - bake crowd pleasing desserts I love that would be fairly easy to execute. I definitely wanted to make tiramisu shooters. Well, because I love tiramisu! I'm not able to eat it right now but it's one of my faves when not on a preggo diet. I also liked the idea of making my own lady fingers - I love making everything from scratch when possible. Lots of chocolate was a must because I eat chocolate literally everyday. I also wanted to include a couple recipes I recently learned that I haven't made for other showers before. The final dessert table consisted of the following: mini Kentucky bundt cakes, chocolate mousse shooters, cake pops, tiramisu shooters, s'mores brownies, snickerdoodle blondies, chocolate covered strawberries, caramels topped with fleur de sel and French macarons (which were given out as game prizes). I had plans to make Oreo popcorn but needed to scratch that last minute - because I was just honestly too tired. LOL. I bought these cute craft take out boxes thinking that my guests could take the desserts home as favors (because I made a ton of extras) but by the end of the night the table was devoured. Not a single treat left - so I guess it was mission accomplished! Comments are closed.
